OMG!!! (Tuesday update: HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUTH!!!!)

When I was youngER, LOL, I met this boy. He was my boyfriend for some months when I was 17. He used to live in Buenos Aires; he still lives there actually, so we would see each other every other month. With the time, of course we drifted apart and I never saw him again. I’ve always had good memories about our time together, though.
Ana Claudia, who is my cousin, works in the migration office, and guess what? She saw him some days ago when he was traveling to Uruguay for business. In fact, she has seen him many times because he comes to Montevideo and Punta del Este very often, but this time was different because, out of nothing, SHE GAVE HIM MY PHONE NUMBER!!!!! Then she called me laughing and said: “You won’t believe what I did, please don’t kill me!!”
I said “&%/$#” OMG!! What if he thinks I told her to do so? What if he thinks I’m desperate and lonely? (Well, I am, LOL, but he doesn’t have to know!!!)
After some minutes I calmed down and thought to myself, “he won’t call anyway” and I forgot about the whole thing (but I do remember to kill Ana Claudia next time I visit her he he he)
Well, it was Saturday night, around midnight when my phone rang; I looked at the screen to see the number and it said “private number”, which is what I get when someone form abroad calls me…..IT WAS HIM!!!!
I gave him a very shy HI and he told me…”HI? What do you mean by HI? No no, you have to say “heyyyyyyy, how is my first love doing!!” or “ WoW, this is the best surprise I ever had!!”
I started laughing, and he laughed with me, the rest of the conversation went smoothly, as if we had spoken just a few days before……but 22 years have passed since our last conversation.
He’s coming to my country again on April 28th and he wants to see me… and I’d love to see him, too. Wait!!!!!!!!! Have I just said 22 years??? Oh Nooooooo, where is my make up? My push-ups, my “keepeverythinginplace panties” my snail dribble cream!!! (kidding about THIS one LOL)
I hope he has gone bald, or lost his teeth, please something!!!
Well, you know me I’M JOKING. Those 22 years have passed for both of us, so who cares? I’m more interested in knowing about how he is doing in life and many other things related to the man he is and not the way he looks now. BUT, just but, if he looks like this: I wouldn’t mind he he he.
Well, that’s all folks. I have to cook something and prepare my classes for this afternoon.
See Ya!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUTH!!!!

GeTTiNg oLd :(

Oh noooooooooo!!! I’m getting old at the speed of light!!
What’s going on? Maybe I need to take some vitamins, for I’m still too weak after the flu. I feel healthier though, but if I walk or try to do something at home I get tired and I have to sit down. I used to get better faster in the past, sniff.
Tomorrow morning I have to work, so I think I will get up early, take a long shower and put some (a lot of) make up on this pale face I have now. Actually, now that I think about it, I haven’t worn any make up in weeks… I’m getting old AND lazy!!!!
Well, changing the topic….. Yesterday we had a beautiful morning here and I decided to spend some time in my front yard to enjoy the sun and the warm air. I was having some “mates” and thinking about Ruth, so I sent a txt telling her, among other things, how nice the weather was. I think that no longer than 15 minutes after the sky went grey and we had a huge electric storm that lasted until midnight or more.
I turned off the TV and the modem because of the lightening and I spent part of the afternoon sitting by the window and looking at the spectacle. I love storms when I don’t have to go outside.
I was getting bored when I remembered that there were other things to do with the PC beyond surfing the net, LOL, so I opened my jigsaw program and put my patience, my eyes and my brain into motion. Take a look:

I played for HOURS and when I went to bed I continued seeing the pieces everywhere, on the walls, on the floor, on the roof ahhhhhhhhhhhh. That had happened to me before, when I used to play TETRIS in my son’s “family game” (and I won’t mention the music of Mario!!!)
We have another grey day today so I guess I’ll have another jigsaw puzzle session and later I’ll visit All the blogs.
I love you ppl xoxoxoxoxooxoxoxooxoxoxooxooxoxoxoox

Para todos mis amigos….especialmente para Ruth

FaRewEll Mick…. fLy HiGh

Yesterday night a friend I never met in person, but I loved with all my heart, passed away. Ruth, his wife, let us know about his life, his dreams, his dask and now his dawn.
Many people learned to love Mick, all over the world there’s now sorrow, but also there’s joy for we had the chance to meet a man through the heart of this wonderful woman.
I feel we were given a gift that we will treasure all our lives.

This is the only thing I can say right now:

If I leave before you do, if I leave you in these lands
Don’t be afraid of the night for I live in it.
If I leave before you do, if it’s that ways that is set out
I want that your news speak of air and sun.
I want you to always remember what we said one day
That every time you laugh I laugh with you my love.
And don’t forget something that is guessed in life
And it’s that life itself it’s a miracle of love.
If I leave before you do and I visit your silence
It’s not to see you sad, nor to see your pain.
I want to tell you, with these clumsy words
That every time you cry, my heart will know.
And we will never meet for I was always by your side,
to where and until when…. those are God’s things.
And we won’t find each other for I was always by your side

I came across this poem when I was looking for some material I needed for my classes.
For most of you, who speak English, this could be just a poem, for me it was nothing but a nightmare!!
I’ve tried hard to remember the wicked teacher who had us repeating this poem once and again, but I wasn’t lucky. Who was she?
Now, since I don’t want to be forgotten, I decided to make some adjustments in my following class planning, and instead of teaching some grammar I’ll be teaching pronunciation he he he. (This is a very evil laughing) …..
Oh! I have an idea!!! I’ll dictate it, and then I can assess spelling, too!
Planning is so good sometimes!!
Come on people; don’t think “that” about me, I’m just trying to do the best for my students! Wouldn’t you do the same thing for them?

The Poem (repeat after me LOL)

I take it you already know
Of tough and bough and cough and dough?
Others may stumble, but not you,
On hiccough, thorough, laugh and through?
Well done! And now you wish, perhaps,
To learn of less familiar traps?
Beware of heard, a dreadful word
That looks like beard and sounds like bird,
And dead: it’s said like bed, not bead –
For goodness sake don’t call it ‘deed’!
Watch out for meat and great and threat
(They rhyme with suite and straight and debt).
A moth is not a moth in mother,
Nor both in bother, broth in brother,
And here is not a match for there
Nor dear and fear for bear and pear;
And then there’s dose and rose and lose –
Just look them up — and goose and choose,
And cork and work and card and ward,
And font and front and word and sword,
And do and go and thwart and cart –
Come, come, I’ve hardly made a start!
A dreadful language? Man alive!
I’d mastered it when I was five!
